KEY ISSUES

MEET ALL THE ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES

Aware of the environmental challenges, Tarkett Group and its subsidiary Tarkett Sports have opted for industrial production methods that protect the environment, and for a responsible and sustainable development strategy.

The principles of sustainable development stem from a number of environmental issues: fairness, social justice, and economic and environmental efficiency. Tarkett Sports has chosen to meet all these challenges through a global response.

This response concerns all Group processes, from its organization and production methods to the choice of materials. Its objective is clear: to achieve total control over environmental risks by eliminating all activities that have harmful or irreversible effects on the environment. By setting stringent rules, the Group seeks to be a driver in eco-responsibility.

PRODUCE INTELLIGENTLY
The environmental component is a factor in all its production processes and product design, and its plants are renovated regularly to remain compliant with the latest environmental standards. In addition, noxious substances have gradually been replaced by non-harmful products. This was the case, for example, with the XF varnish used for linoleum floorings, which now minimizes toxic emissions.

STRESSING GREEN PRODUCTS AND RECYCLING
Another key environmental issue is the destruction or recycling of waste generated by industrial operations and consumption, which create a major environmental problem.

To meet this problem, Tarkett Sports follows a dual approach: favoring raw materials that are not harmful to the environment, and recycling of finished and used products. Likewise, to combat the threat of natural resource depletion (water, fossil fuels, deforestation), the Group has committed itself to a sustainable development program.

This new production policy allows it to offer a full range of solutions with a reduced ecological impact. This is the case, for example, with artificial turf, which requires little water, thus helping to preserve this resource when maintaining playing fields.

We are therefore aware that the composition of our floorings determines their recyclability. It has consequences on resource depletion. The decisions we make upstream will have repercussions in a number of areas, whether the ecological footprint or the economic balance.
