and Tarkett. The adoption of Tarkett as a global brand is recent (2003),
but our history is marked with innovations and product advances. |

The origins: |

The history of Domco goes back to Dominion Oil Cloth, which undertook the production of linoleum (Canada). |

The history of the Sommer Allibert Group goes back to Alfred Sommer, who founded a felt-manufacturing factory at Mouzon (France), and to Joseph Allibert, who, in 1910, founded a factory dedicated to the manufacture of shoes. |

Founding of the Michael Hemp hemp-soaking and rope factory that later became Sintelon (Yugoslavia). |

Sommer and Allibert merge to create Sommer Allibert which carries on strong development and growth for two decades. It was the success of Sommer Allibert's floor finishes business that was the basis for the international growth of Tarkett Sommer, now Tarkett. |
