The Tarkett Group is committed to preserving the quality of the environment and to preventing or minimising any environmental impact created by its business.

Via the establishment of objectives, Tarkett minimises the use of materials and energy in the development, production, distribution, marketing and sales processes of its products and seeks to use, to the maximum extent, renewable and/or recyclable materials.

Protection of the environment is also at the heart of FieldTurf Tarkett' strategy, which is set to comply with the highest environmental standards.

New-generation artificial turfs and the environment

The FieldTurf Tarkett new-generation artificial turf range incorporates perfectly the problems of durable development. During the development of the Prestige System, FieldTurf Tarkett chose to favour the use of recycled rubber granules for the infill of its new-generation turf. The characteristics of this material are unique and very stable over time. Each year, more than 28,000 tonnes of granules are thus recycled, representing all four tyres of 1.4 million vehicles.

Plastic flooring and the environment

In recent years, our PVC products have constantly been improved to take environment problems into account. Thanks to Quality Control and changes in raw materials, combined with the development of the most sophisticated techniques in respect of recycling and purification, our emissions into the atmosphere are extremely limited.

FieldTurf Tarkett & ALIAPUR

In order to protect the environment, vehicle tyre manufacturers are obliged to recycle an impressive quantity of worn-out tyres every year. During the development of their first new-generation artificial turf, Prestige System, FieldTurf Tarkett chose to favour the use of recycled materials as part of their durable development policy. FieldTurf Tarkett has, in addition, observed that this material enables the sports qualities of artificial turf to be retained, in comparison with numerous EPDM materials that are far from being satisfactory over the long term.

The various scientific studies carried out up to the present time have not revealed any harm caused by these granules, the result of the recycling of tyres, either to the environment or to mankind. FieldTurf Tarkett has, in addition, in association with Aliapur, undertaken various research and development studies in order to guarantee to their partners and clients an increased quality of the recycled granules.

Each year, FieldTurf Tarkett contributes to the re-use of more than 18,000 tonnes of rubber granules produced by the recycling of tyres, representing all four tyres of 1.4 million vehicles. A fine example of a commitment to durable development!
